Back from vacation. Decisions made around engine options: Am going with a dual-carb Rotax 503 and a composite IVO propeller.
Have ordered the DVD "Deep Inside Your Rotax 2 Cycle Engine", and bought a DVD drive with which to view it.
The rotor blades have apparently arrived. Now embroiled in a war of paperwork to get 'em cleared through Customs.
And the stuff from StarBee apparently won't ship until February.

There was a 12-foot crate waiting for me when I got home... Customs have extracted their pound of flesh, but Delta Echo has her wings, even if *I* haven't.
Started the ordering process for the engine - which will be a dual-carb Rotax 503,
configured for low-noise operation with the intake silencer and after muffler, and jetted accordingly.
Going with the B gearbox, and will almost certainly be mating it to a 3-blade IVO propeller.
Now hoping for favourable fluctuations in the Australian exchange rate...
Got my paws on an up-to-date copy of the NZ-AIP: Aerodrome information, navigation charts, etc. It's been about 12 years since I last flew, and I can't believe how cluttered the airspace has become around Auckland.
Ordered the engine from Solo Wings in Tauranga. Very scary, but I've now paid for most of the aircraft :)
